Event - When I was a kid we had the L.A. river behind my friend's house just over the fence. After school we would jump the gate and play in it. One time we made this cardboard boat about 4 feet wide and piled a bunch of leaves and branches on it, then set it on fire. We put it in the water and watched it go. It went into a tunnel and we could see smoke pouring out from everywhere. I think it got stuck. We ran away. About 20 minutes later we heard sirens. Not sure if there was a connection, but...
Apology - I'm sorry I was ever friends with that guy. He got me in soooooo much trouble!
Event - I was 16 and jsut got my driver's license. It was Halloween and my friends wanted to drive around and torment kids. So we went out late when there weren't many around and saw this kid walking all alone. He was like 10 or so. So I pulled up next to him and my friend leaned out the window and pointed a black stick at him and screamed something like I'm gonna kill you! The kid took off running and ran right into a fire hydrant. I took off as fast as I could when the kid hit the ground.
Apology - Oh man that sucked. My friends were all laughing but it was NOT funny. That must have hurt like a b***h! That's teh kind of thing that messes up your brain. So I'm sorry to that kid and sorry I caved into peer pressuer.
Event - I used to work in an industry which is very highly regulated by the FDA. Everything we did there was covered by extensive documentation. One day I noticed that Mike had missed documenting some instrument readings from the previous shift. I knew what a paperwork hassle this was going to create, along with management lectures to the whole department about the importance of documentation, so I called Mike at home and told him what he had done. The next morning, he came in and scribbled in some numbers and signed it off. He was caught and fired on the spot for false documentation.
Apology - I have felt guilty about this ever since it happened. Not because Mike got fired, he knew the risk and took it, but because I have always been afraid Mike thought I set him up and finked on him. Mike, it wasn't me! Lino saw the blank space and then that you had filled it in. You know Lino could never leave anything alone, he showed it to Rick who took it right to Larry. I would never have set anybody up that way.
Event - I was working for a lamp factory in the shipping department. I was just a kid and not ready for the job, but they hired me, so whatever. They got this massive order from Sears for about 10,000 lamps. I then proceeded to send them with the wrong shipping company and cost them about $18,000. I got fired, but I still felt bad about it.
Apology - The boss was a jerk. They treated me like cr*p. But I still was the one responsible for the mistake, so sorry about that.
