Event - About 7 years ago, i was coming home from a friends house at about 1:30 Am on a satruday night. I saw a man who was crashed on an offramp, he was standing outside his car trying to call the police, but his phone was off...he was hammered drunk. I told him that if he called the police, he would go to jail for DUI. I offered to give him a ride home, and he accepted.
Apology - Im sorry that i gave him a ride, drunk drivers need to be taugh a lesson, i should have let the police come and arrest him, he may have driven drunk again after that and killed someone for all i know. Maybe him getting arrested that night, could have been the best thing for him.
Event - Reading the previous story about a drunk driver reminded me of mine. I was taking a nap and heard an explosion. My roommate came and got me and told me to come outside. My car was parked at the curb and just totalled by another. This woman and man come up to us and tell us she was driving - he was following her home. She said she only had one drink, but I should have known better. They begged me not to call the cops - that her insurance would cover everything - that she'd never do it again - on and on. And I agreed. Looking back, she should have paid a price. It would have possibly helped her and others. And she DID fight the insurance claim - witch.
Apology - Sorry to anyone she may have hurt in the future. I shouldn't have been a "nice guy."
Event - I was called for jury duty and it was a setting where the lawyers called in a couple potential jurors and asked them some questions before deciding on a jury. The questions lead me to believe it was going to be a drunk driving case. My mom was very injured by a drunk driver, so I made sure I said all the right answers to try to get picked, even if I didn't believe the answers. I did get selected and it was a case of a drunk driver driving onto an onramp and killing his passenger. I don't even think I listened to anything. I just couldn't wait to get into the jury room and convict him. About halfway through the case one lawyer got very sick and the case was stopped. Eventually it was decided it had to be retried with a new jury.
Apology - I feel bad that I was ready to convict someone of a horrible thing based upon what happened in my own life and because I feel the driver who hurt my mom didn't pay enough.
Event - I was at a coffee shop and eating at the counter and there was this guy at the far end who was being a real jerk to the waitress. He was looking her up and down and being rude. I finished up about the same time as him and went out to my car to leave. I saw him leave and he got in a big cable truck with one of those Call If You See This Driver Doing Something Stupid stickers on the bumper. So I called and said he cut me off on the road.
Apology - It wasn't like I had a plan, but when I saw that sticker I couldn't resist. Pretty dumb. Maybe he got in trouble. I don't know. But it wasn't a nice thing to do.
