| Event - I was maybe 17 or 18, and worked in a grocery store with an attractive, slightly older, single mother. I eventually asked her out, and we set a date for the following Friday PM. Out of drunkeness (I was a heavy drinker then) and immaturity, I totally blew off the date, leaving her alone after she had arranged for a sitter. |
| Apology - I feel awful that you were hurt, and went to a lot of trouble for no reason. I had no idea what it was like to be in your shoes, and if I'd been more thoughtful, I would have kept my commitment. I'm sorry, too, to the sitter who lost a chance to earn some pay. |
