Prom

Event - So more than a few years ago, it was your Junior prom. It was on a Saturday. A friend of mine from summer camp had asked, at least a few months before we started dating, if I'd go with her to her prom if she didn't have a date. I said yes, and it turned out that she didn't have a date. It also turned out that her prom was the Thursday before your prom. So I went to her prom, and then to yours, and everyone had a blast. I didn't even do anything with her. But because I neglected to tell you about it, you freaked out, and we broke up.

Apology - I'm not really sure I'm sorry for anything, to be honest. I still think I was okay for not mentioning it. I mean, we went as friends, after all. And I'm not sure that our relationship would've survived the distance. But I feel badly that I didn't realize that you would take it so hard. And I feel badly that we ended on such a terrible note (that phone call was awful, my mom asked about it afterward because she heard it two floors down), and couldn't remain friends. I should've just told you. It wasn't hard to do, and it really shows a lack of logic on my part. A lack that seems to continue to this day.

Poor Speller

Event - I was in charge of making t-shirts for a charity drive that were supposed to say "Give & Receive" I didn't proof and there were about 10,000 made saying "Give & Recieve" It was my fault, but I passed the buck, saying the printer must have made the error.

Apology - It didn't make a difference. Only about 5 people noticed. But I should have just said I messed up and moved on. I hope it doesn't happen again, but if it does, I'll know what to do.

Bloody Driver

Event - I was on the freeway and got in the right lane because my exit was coming soon. I got behind this car and it was going about 30 even though no one was in front of it. I started honking and getting on his a**. He got off on the same exit and was turning right while I was going left. So I got to pull up next to him. When I looked over I saw he was holding a cloth up to his head and it was covered in blood. To the right was the hospital. I assume that's where he was headed.

Apology - I learned I should probably know a little more about a situation before I go off on someone.

Band Incident

Event - This happened a few years back when I was in high school. I was playing for graduation and I was excused to leave the ceremony after we stopped playing as I was in a hurry to visit my relatives in another state. As I was leaving a rank of U.S. soldiers were blocking my exit. I asked if I could please squeeze through them (politely) and they didn't respond. I asked again and they still did nothing. I then asked again and the guy broke his rank and let me through. I had no idea that this was a bad thing to do at the time (I was not accustomed to military ways). I felt so ashamed after I had learn this was extremely disrespectful thing to do. I felt really guilty and I wanted to find the solider and apologize dearly to him. I do support my troops and I thank them for the sacrifices they make to defend our freedom. It was a HUGE mistake to me and I deeply regret doing what I did. I sincerely would like to get this off my chest as its been troubling me for a couple of years now.

Apology - I can not express how deeply apologetic I am for my actions. I want you to know that I was being woefully ignorant and disrespectful to you and that I am sincerely ashamed for acting this way towards men and women in uniform. Please find it in you heart to forgive me. I, to the utmost caliber, regret doing what I did.
