Drunk Climbing

Event - I was a nasty drunk. There is no doubt about it. I have been sober 6 years now. Back when I was drinking I had a girlfriend who lived with her parents still. We got in a fight and she walked home from my house. I started drinking and in the middle of the night went over and climbed a tree and started banging on her bedroom window. But it was her little sister's window instead. I scared her bad and could hear her screaming through the window. I fell out of the tree and took off and never went back.

Apology - I don't blame the beers. I blame myself for drinking them and maybe scarring a young girl. I hope anyone out there who drinks learns my lesson without doing the same thing.

Girl With Braces, Spin The Bottle

Event - I was so interested in dating a girl in 8th grade named Kathy O. She was cute but wore braces and everyone called her tinsel teeth and other names. We were at a party playing spin the bottle, and I was so excited when she sat down to play too. On my turn the bottle pointed at Kathy and everyone started goofing on me that I had to kiss tinsel teeth. I acted like a jerk and pretended I wanted no part of her either.

Apology - What an a-hole I was. That girl deserved such better treatment and I went with the idiot crowd. I have always regretted my stupidity and wondered how badly I hurt her feelings. Kathy O, I am so sorry. And this was 40 years ago...

Event - I got too comfortable with her, thought that she would be there no matter what, and she left. At the beginning we had a whole rope between us, after we came back from California, the last string was gone. We lost each other string by string. She always said " I love you, I will always come back." I think we both deserve a chance.

Called Mom Out

Event - My mom is selfish. She always has been. The world revolves around her. But she's always talking about how giving and sacrificing she is. We were all at a wedding over the weekend and at the table she was talking about just this and I couldn't take it any more. I just told her what was on my mind and told her she's nuts and selfish and one of the least giving people I know. She took it as a joke, because she couldn't imagine such a thing could be true in her la-la world. But I was serious.

Apology - I should just let it go. Am I bitter because she was a sh***y mother? Yes. But who cares, right? She's old. I should just let her go on living in her make believe land. Sorry I flew off the handle. And sorry I did it in a public place.

Throwing Shoe At Dog

Event - My dog has a bark that would wake the dead. The other day the UPS guy knocked on the door and the dog went nuts. I lost it and threw my shoe at him from across the room. I don't know if I was trying to hit him or just scare him. It was so fast. I hit him and he yelped. I'm sure he's not hurt, but still.

Apology - I know he's a dog and I know he's going to bark. No one needs to tell me that. I just need to accept that and let him do his thing. Sorry Jar-Jar. I'll keep my shoes on from now on.
